After spending two years in Leeds in the North of England doing postdoctorate research work at the University of Leeds it is obvious that I have a special relation to that country.
Even more memorable is the fact that I met there my lovely wife, Irena Grieg Schupak from Ukraine. The only way to get her into Switzerland without major difficulties was to marry her - I don't regret it at all. Our marriage ceremony took place on 7 November 1997 in the register office in Leeds. The blessing of the marriage took place on 5 September 1998 in Seuzach (near Winterthur).
During my stay in England I tried to learn more about the English language. Here are some results.
My leisure time concentrates mostly on music (what a surprise, being married to a composer): Until recently I played clarinet in the Stadtmusik Winterthur and French horn. Currently I am singing in the "Kantorei" of the Stadtkirche Winterthur.
Not just a leisure time activity but rather my best friend in all situations of life is Jesus Christ and my life motto is: Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thess. 5,16-18)
We are attending the Anglican Church in Basel.
